UAE Gratuity Law — Key Facts
• Minimum 1 year of service required to qualify
• First 5 years: 21 calendar days of basic salary per year
• After 5 years: 30 calendar days of basic salary per year
• Maximum total gratuity: 2 full years of basic salary
• Must be paid within 14 days of your last working day
• Resignation under 5 years: proportional reduction (1/3 → 2/3 → full)
• Governed by Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 (replaces 1980 Labour Law)
